Jessica J. Bustamante is an associate attorney handling business litigation, arbitration and real estate transactions. Her experience has focused on disputes and other matters involving complex bankruptcy, construction, employment, labor, entertainment, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance issues. Her industrial experience includes construction, telecommunications, life sciences, and hospitality.
Ms. Bustamante holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Catholic University of America. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Massachusetts School of Law, where she led her team to a First Place finish in the school’s mock trial competition. Ms. Bustamante was awarded Best Closing Argument and, as a result of her achievements, was selected to judge the championship tournament the following year. During law school, Ms. Bustamante served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable William S. Colwell and the Honorable Stephen R. Henley, Administrative Law Judges in the U.S. Department of Labor. While clerking and in her time as an associate with Schulman Bhattacharya, Jessica has learned the importance of investigating a matter thoroughly, critical reasoning, tenacity, and balance.
Prior to joining Schulman Bhattacharyra, Ms. Bustamante worked for an environmental engineering, construction, and general contracting firm ensuring regulatory compliance. She is proficient in Spanish and admitted to practice in Maryland.
